Well, all the M1009s I have found so far are on the east coast. I am hoping to have the money by early December to buy my first rig, and I am worried about it breaking down on the way back. I figure instead of going out twice, once to look, and then once to take it home, I would be better off just buying two, and then selling one once I am back home in Washington. Get an M1008 or M1028 and the M1009 from the same base, then tow the M1009 behind the M1028. I figured that with the lower gearing the M1028 would be perfect to tow the other rig home.from where to where
How would I find such a device? Do you have pictures?proper towbar for cucv woulfd be easiest not sure about cheapest,
You know, that M1008 sounds like a great deal, even with the blown head gasket. If I knew a little more about diesel engines, I would totally buy it.sounds like a plan... and i've got tow bars here locally (still have m1008 for sale too)
Not to burst your bubble, but FYI the chances of getting one (let alone two) good running cucv's from the same base/auction are not that great. Let alone a 1500mile long trip. Thats a LONG way to be driving something that you dont know the condition of, let alone have no idea on how to fix if something does break.
