Blackout Lights

I’m in the process of wiring new blackout lights in the rear bumper. The replacements I have don’t seem to indicate which wire is which, and neither did the ones previously installed for that matter.

Checking the voltages on each, looks like they’re both hot, one with 12V and the other with 6V. Not sure if that 6V is correct or not. So when I wire them in and turn on the blackout switch, I get different different results. Does anyone know which one of these is correct? Or are they all supposed to light up and I just have an issue with that 6V side I’m getting?

Actually that 6V might not be a correct reading, I can’t recreate it. Only get .6V now

Why hasn’t anyone told me to check the TMs Turns out the other wire is hot when braking. So I’m guessing that single yellow light is the normal blackout light and then red comes on when braking.

The 4 red LED slits are marker lights and work on black out as parking lamps. The center amber lamp in the middle works as a black out brake lamp. I hope that answers your question. Up front each side has 2 amber slits as park ID lamps. Take Care.

I'm glad you figured this out because I have a set just like that to put in both of mine as well!!
