Blinker/Flasher Problem

I've recently obtained my very own m1009. I found that the turn signals and hazards do not work. The fuses checked out but i replaced them anyway and the other lights are working. Any suggestions? Are there separate bulbs for the flashers? Anything will help.

replace the light bulbs. Make sure that your "service lights" are ON

New problem has arisen, while truck was running I turned on the wipers and it cut off now turning the key looks like there is no power at all, I will check fuses but what else could this be? after this, I began to take apart the steering column to look at wiring but having trouble taking the steering wheel off, any tips?

To get at the electrical part of the ignition switch you don 't take off the steering wheel, you lower down the steering column by removing the two nuts holding it up. That said, your problem is much more likely to be the fusebox or fusible links.

Grounds. Check your grounds.

Check your flasher in the fuse box for the blinkers. Go back through your fuses and check your grounds. There is a ground near the brake release that can cause all kinds of issues. I had similar issues with mine and slowly but surely this site helped me get it going again and passing the state safety check.

Welcome to Cuck Vee ownership. Pull EVERYTHING that is related apart and clean. That is connectors, grounds, fuse terminals, etc.

There are two 2 prong flashers that plug into fuse panel. The one in right lower corner is for turn signals, the left upper is for hazards. Recommend using commercial grade if you have to replace them.

I also recommend changing both flashers with high quality heavy duty ones. Even if they work part of the time they are usually old and a source of problems. These are inexpensive so replace them both!

A quick way to test to eliminate some items, check your hazards. Do they work? Swap the flasher relay on the fuse box, do they still work? If not, do the blinkers? If so problem solved replace blinker relay. Probably not that easy but you may get lucky.
