My friends have been building bobbed trucks for the last couple of years. They do nice work, and do not advertise what they do. I thought I would post a few pictures of their latest 5 ton. It has front and rear winches, cut down dropside bed, and 16.00 spare behind the cab. It is a beast.

They cut a piece out of the bed toward the rear. The sides were cut at the rear and new ends fabbed to look like stock.
As for the wheel base, I am not sure. I do know the rear spring hangers were back as far as possible without hitting the rear winch.

Nice looking truck. One thing that bothers me when people cut the bed down is that they never cut off or move the loop for the sling straps and it always looks out of place.

Edit: I take that back, it looks like Barneyszoo cut his off.

I was thinking the TM for that truck would say something along the lines: Assemble soldier A, B, C, and D. Provide access to cooler full of beer, and hope for the best!
