bridge plate

I know the M109A3's bridge number is 7 but which side of the plate does it go on isnt one side the vehicle weight and the other the trailer weight?

There's a formula for computing bridge weight, but most people just divide the tare (empty) weight or the loaded (when loaded) weight by 2,000 and round off to the neartest higher ton (i.e.: 13,700 lb. tare = 07 bridge plate #). When pulling a trailer, the top piece of the plate is reversed so the C shows, indicating combination. Then the total weight of both is used to compute the bridge plate number.
This explaination may not be exact, but it works for me.

I found the bridge weights in the front of the 10 manual in the tabulated data. easy way.
