My M1009 is all 383 Green- no camo yet. I have just painted my nearly finished M416 Trailer to match. I have applied the Stenciled numbers to the bumpers; but it is low vis. I am actually ok with it, but I was wondering how many of you paint on a contrasting patch of white to stencil the numbers over. How many of you use white over the green. How many of you slit the colors of the lettering if they happen to cross a color bountry on a camo scheme. How many omit any bumper ID altogether?

I used tan for a background when repainting the bumper numbers on the three color woodland camo.

White on green would be outside of the timeperiod of the CUCV.
Normally units did a sand paint strip on each side of the bumpers (although some did it on the rear tailgate. Then use black stencils on the sand paint. A google image search shows up a lot of photos of ones with bumper numbers done correctly.
