I live in Florida...I’ve never paid taxes on a cash or check private transaction.
Florida requires the buyer to pay a 6% sales tax on all new or used vehicle purchases- it sounds like you're talking about not paying taxes that you legally owe, which is an arrestable criminal offense, and I don't think that Steel Soldiers is an appropriate place to discuss your criminal activities...

Do you believe in taxation without representation?

Guys, I may have figured out why he's asking such odd questions:

I Googled "EliteBeret", and came up with a 15 year old that appears to spend an awful lot of his time and energy on role-playing video games and costumes...

Sales tax on a new item is understandable. Sales tax on a used item is bullcrap. Taxes were already paid once. what magic happened making a second sales tax necessary.

The laws need changing.

yes, I agree it needs changing.
But until it IS changed, that's how you have to do things unless you want government type people poking into the rest of your business as well, so better to pay it and complain than not pay it and get caught.

That's the million dollar question. :funny: To many variables besides lights and gauges. There's no more $85 dollar jeeps in a crate. The survey is a neat idea, BUT the range is a bit wishful IMO.

Here's my quickie breakdown on my rig over the past six years.
1987 M998 9500
Shipping 2000
Replacement parts 4000
4 doors 1700
5 very nice tires & rims 450 was a super deal
Air lift bumper & Rhino 400 another deal
Seat kit new & rear cushions 700
Differential 400
Steering wheel 85
Electrical good deal items... flasher, alternator, gauges, lights, switches, 400
Heater core & motor 150
Bought hard copies of TM's 200
Can't remember stuff ... 1600 "HMMWV amnesia" .... if you see green rigs .... YOU GOT IT !
License & insurance each year 600
Band-aids and swear jar ... lost count
Undisclosed funds and times I heard "money pit" from the boss lady. Not a dollar value 863 times.
Hours of labor ..... PRICELESS

Not cheap and wonder sometimes the price of such fun, LOL........ CAMO aua
That's why HMMWV actually means High Maintenance Money Wasting Vehicle😁😁, but I still love mine

My street legal 2006 M1152A1 with less than 400 miles on it is for sale. I just completed a completed restoration and it looks and drives like new.
Please see the link below for pictures and more information:

I am trying not to comment on this, but I can't bite my tongue any longer....
Since this is a $58,500 "restored" humvee....
Why do people say their truck is restored when it is actually customized?
The spray paint is shiny. AMG didn't put red christmas lights inside. Your hood needs adjusted. It is too far forward. What are all the red wires under the hood? Where is the RH splash shield? Why is there only 1 teardrop shackle on the rear bumper? And it is red? No hitch. No shackles on end of bumper. You have the old style air horn boot that will collapse with vacuum. Exhaust pipe is pointed towards the tire. I haven't seen metal composite lights in a loooong time. Why did your wait light blink in the video before you started it? Interior is shiny, too - spray paint? You can remove the sheet metal behind the driver seat base since it isn't a 2-door any more. That will give rear person room to put their feet. Indoor / outdoor carpet? non-6tl batteries. AND, the data plate that was made.
Now, if the ad stated cutomized HMMWV, I would not have said a thing.

Action: I thought you were a nice and knowledgeable guy. I would respond with the following:

1. In reality the words restored and customized have subjective meanings and are often used in descriptions in different ways. I say restored because the truck is closer to restored than "customized". With the seats, top and doors and most everything I used OEM parts and put a great deal of time and effort into that - so I say restored.
2. The red dome lighting is actually a water proof LED strip product that is widely used on most Navy and Coast Guard boats. Red is always preferred because it reduces light blindness at night and can be used while driving.
3. The rear bumper shackles are now on and the hitch is being painted black and will be installed shortly. See below.

4. I have no idea what you mean by the "air horn boot" and the exhaust pipe is exactly as it is on every other truck I ever seen. Perhaps yours is wrong.
5. The headlights are actually the same ones used on current production Humvees. The low beam is a bit bright for some oncoming traffic at time. On high beam night becomes day.
6. The wait light blinked because the engine and glow plugs were warm from running immediately prior to starting. Most would know this.
7. Removing the sheet metal behind the driver's seat is not advisable by AM General and in my opinion would cause way more cosmetic damage that it is worth. Perhaps you could post a picture of what your own truck looks like with the sheet metal removed.
8. I would never use an indoor/outdoor carpet on any vehicle. That might be the norm where you live but not here.
9. The data plate was replaced with a new one because the old one was damaged and was coming off. What does yours look like?

The trucking in my opinion is definitely not "customized" and honestly thats a word I use. Perhaps you don't understand the concept of the whole project, which judging from your comments seems to be case.

what would be the cost of a bare bones humvee? By bare bones I mean frame in good condition, Engine running decently and functioning or easily fixable gauges and lights.
You just need to go buy an Chevy Bolt or Volt or Tesla or any number (hundreds) of other cars and drive, Go have a life. How about a new car or truck, any flavor, go see our country.

You guys are arguing with a 17yr old....good luck with that.
His birthday is a Google search away- I don't think he's 17.

If the kid really was 17, I'd recommend that he join the military, where they will actually pay him to drive military vehicles...
