The deuce got stuck the ford got stuck the dodge got stuck then the chev showed up

Three trucks can pull out a stuck deuce https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPooUvhf3yE

You can Bob it and pull it backwards, slight language warning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i1NMgdFayI

If you lived up here and got stuck in April, you just wait a month and can drive right out. You don't need an extra truck, just patience.

Whatever you do jump into the "SAFETY" forum and see what can go wrong so you can make it right. Too many cats die when doing recovery. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?103547-Winch-Safety-and-Recovery-Dangers

We use a 10,000 lb Chev dually 4x4 to recover these 8000lb slough jumpers out of ditches and that is just good math. The big heavy thing pulls the stuck small thing.

With the winch and cable wizards out there, anything is possible. Here's a wee Willys wildly winching a damaged deckless deuce onto a trailer. What is that, about 1,500 lbs pulling 10,000lbs?

............and recovery strap technology these days is over the top.....we hope....because if they break we hope they go over the top. Here's a cool link for straps with a price list. My favorite is first and it's only $400.00 http://www.uscargocontrol.com/Towin...aps/Recovery-Straps-W-Cordura-Eyes-8x30-2-Ply

Lots of big options out there.

.......Breaking point, 131,500lbs. http://www.bubbarope.com/extreme-bubba

Then the Ford got stuck and the Chev got stuck, so you better get that Deuce.

How does it go, stuck to the hubs is twice the weight in force. Stuck to the fenders is 3 times the weight?
Thus the reason to jack things up out of the mud before you winch them. (as much as you can) I aways maintain a supply of cribbing.

I always go a bit slower & think of how they did it in the old days before the tools we have now. Also I try to go slow enough I can back out before burying it, also Try to not use the front wheel drive unless I need to get unstuck.
My Dad buried a good size dozer to near the top of the tracks then winched a big railroad tie & chained it to both tracks & when the tie went under, the dozer came out almost vertical but it came right out without jerking, straining or tearing anything up. Go easy & THINK. Common sense is not so common anymore.:grd:

A powerstroke ??lol...You need an M1008. I pulled my Deuce no problem with my M1008. Need weigh and traction...something no Powerstroke will ever have over a M1008. Not stock anyway.

That is the same trick they teach in Tank School at fort Knox. For those who are thinking "didn't rustystud say he was in the Marines? " There is only one Tank School in all the Military. Of course only Army and Marines have Tanks so no biggy !
