This is an interesting photo because it dates a period in Canadian armoured (with a U folks) doctrine. The V150 was not purchased in numbers despite the sign board. It was tested as a light armoured car when there wasn't very solid doctrine to support a purchase.
A V100 was tested in the mid-60s as a possible replacement for the Ferrets. It was not chosen. The M113A1 C&R "Lynx" was selected instead. Probably a good choice because of commonality with the larger M113A1 APC fleet.
The V150 in the picture was tested in the 1970's as a companion for the Lynx, in a departure from tracks for wheels. The competition selected the Swiss MOWAG Piranha 6x6 in APC, recovery (sort of) and tank trainer versions. These designs flourished into the 8x8 LAV family which has been widely adopted.
