I just installed a new tan vinyl cargo cover and have 2 questions for those wiser than I. How do you secure the 3 steel-buckled straps over the rear bow when they appear to be three times too long? And what are the 4 square ports or windows ( 2 forward, 2 aft) that can be somewhat opened and closed? Thanks.

This cover has 3 straps with steel buckles that I am referring to that actually line up with the rear bow but when secured are very loose around the bow. It has 3 other straps with plastic hooks that hold the rear curtain rolled up. These hooks fasten into the loops on the outside. I was hoping for a way to fasten around the bow to snug the top up without jury rigging it.

The straps are to secure the rear curtain in the rolled up position and the rope that is sewn into the rear of the top ties down to the bed to hold the top down. The six small straps are not meant to secure the top .

I was under the impression that the straps with the plastic hooks ( white ones ) are for securing the rear panel to the tabs on the outside after being rolled up. The other photos show the shorter ones ( tan ones ) which fit around the bow but won't tighten up. And to top it all off, I have 10 more long white straps that I assume get screwed to the curved corner pieces since one end has a flat buckle with a hole in it. So what are these for? I have more white ones at each bow that I thought served the purpose of securing the sides after they were rolled up.

mine might be different, but it does have three straps at the back that tie the rear of the cover to the last bow, and also three others that hold the rear flap up when its rolled up. The 5 others on each side are for holding the sides up when they are rolled up. You can roll up the sides on theses covers and basically just leave the top covering the bed. Thats how I have mine at the moment. Go here, youll figure it out
