How many knew this is were your cargo gate goes when you dont need it.
I saw this truck on the net.My gate is at the shop so I used this photo.

I didn't know it until about a year ago. I thought it was a shelf you could use to get things off the ground while in your bivouac area.

I learned it from someone else's M105 recovery pictures, but I don't think I found it mentioned in the TMs anywhere. I carried them that way on my recovery last Monday to reduce drag.

I learned it when picked up my trailer.

FWIW, I keep my rear gate on the drivers side. It widens the trailer just enough so that you can see it enough to keep it pretty straight when backing.

Also, the rack thats on the front of the trailer will fit in the tailgate also..
