On the subject of the late 60's/early 70's style wooden roof bows and steel corners....all my uprights are rotted/broken, as are the bows.

Should I just try and keep the metal corners, and cut my own wood?

Also, what sort of wood is recommended?

Just looking to save on buying a new/ TO set of bows, uprights, and corners.

RE: cargo roof bows/corners Q

I snapped off one of the vertical fiberglass supports, found a piece of oak and planed and cut it down to size and it has worked perfectly for over a year.
