Caution about Iron Planet/Gov Planet HMMWV's

IMO there will be more and more hmmwv for sales, and waves of good ones, as replacements pop up. If you’re looking for one, you’ll be able to find M1123s in excellent condition for less than $20K for quite a while. The best truck one can get for that kind of money.
The growing challenge will be to get original spare parts.

I thought M35A2's were being phased out 13-14 years ago. I bought one back then for dirt cheap. They still pop up in auctions to this day so I guess not?

I am unsure how it happens, other than poor record keeping, but old trucks come out much later than anyone would figure. I've seen gasser M543s (could have been an M62) come out in the last 20 years. I've seen M123 (diesel variants...not sure which model) tractors come out during the same time period. So, I suspect that that old trucks will continue to be released over the coming years as they are found and removed from inventory.

When I was at Camp Roberts MATES, they had an M37 weapons carrier for a maintenance truck in the yard…over 20yrs or more since they were out of the inventory. In my 27yrs on bases….you see all kinds of old equipment still on the bases, I know for a fact in many cases, there is no paperwork and no one can remember when it arrived or where it came from.
