Chainfall for spare

All- after the debacle that was removing my spare tire for painting my 5 ton, I now know a lever lift wire come-a-long is no bueno as the clearance between it and the gantry/tire was too tight and I almost threw my back out getting the tire up/down.

I'm looking to get a small strap to put around the tire and a smallish chain fall to pick it up with. Does anyone have a brand/type setup they would be willing to share with me? Also, what jack/lug wrench do you carry in case of flats?

Any and all info is appreciated.

I carry 2 20 ton bottle jacks from tractor supply, a couple 4x6s for blocking/shoring, a 3/4” impact with lug and beadlock nut sockets and an old craftsman 30 gal air comp tank to use as a volume tank and a 1/2” HF air hose to run the impact.
I will eventually keep a 3/4” breaker bar and ratchet with the appropriate number of ext. for the rear wheels.

Memphis has the 1/4-ton chain hoist that originally came with the M939 series tool set, @ $60: https://www.ebay.com/itm/292808839014
Although Chinese-made, they work fairly well for the purpose.

The issue lug wrench tools are frequently not up to the task specially if the wheel hardware has been on for a while and encrusted with rust or paint. Even 24 volt electric impact wrenches can be defeated by stubborn Army lug nuts. Remember the ones on the drivers side are left hand threat for Budd wheels. A breaker bar, a 1.5" and 13/16" sockets (for 10 wheel trucks) can save the day. Pic attached of non-electric lug wrench tool. A 1" drive impact wrench backed up by a suitable air supply usually gets the job done if you have one.

Sounds like a lot of extras to lug around, I have a Milwaukee 1500ib 1/2 drive impact I keep with a hot 5.0 battery on hand. It will knock about 4 tires and wheels out before a battery swap, worth its weight in gold in so many ways on a larger MV. Prior I used to utilize my torque multiplier and end up exhausted and spending hours rotating tires. Now it’s a few-minute Affair and no waiting on air to build

The air should already be built if a person is driving down the road and has a flat. I dont see what i carry as a lot of extra, just like i dont see that what you carry as to little. You do you and ill do me. The man asked what folks carry, i stated what i carry.
