Chassis color -XM211?

As some of you know, I have been repainting the 211. On the chassis and attached parts, it was painted glossy black. This black paint was covered with couple different coats of O.D. The green paint is scaling off and the black is in good solid condition. The axles are O.D. I was under the impression that originally this model truck was all army green. Should I repaint the chassis with the glossy black ? Give me some opinions please.Maybe because it was the X M211 which was the first run of these trucks? I am leaning towards the black chassis paint.

I think the black would do fine. A lot of purists would opt to paint everything the same OD color, but undercarriage, to me, should look dark so you notice the body of the truck, not the ugly underbelly....

Take a look at the most recent Army Motors - lots of photos of these trucks moving down the assembly line. Its pretty clear what parts were what colors originally on the trucks. If you don't have a copy - as MVPA HQ for one and they will send it (tell them I sent you).

Hope this helps,
David
