Hi guys,

Tomorrow, I am off to check out this M998 for sale in the north of Italy.:D Pix below.
A few questions:
1. Is the color original? The green looks too light to me.
2. The spot light on the hood. Must be an after-market one?
3. The tail lights look different than the original ones, right?
4.Did M998 come with a spade underneath (Pix 7)?

Does anything else look non-original?
Cheers!

It's definitely a humvee and not an transformed H1 for sure. The pioneer tool rack in the rear is normal equipment. These things can have all sorts of added bells and whistles added so the spot light isn't unusual as long as they're mil issue 24 volt. It's hard to tell with the tail lights but it appears the lense is a bit different than normal. I've seen people convert the blackout markers at the bottom into white backup lamps, but i can't tell from the pic what's going on with that one. Nice truck though.

Looking at the dash pics there's a couple of added switches. I'm assuming the one on the left is for the spot lamp and the one closest to the steering wheel is probably for IR lights that i can't see in the pic of the front because it's too dark. The heater knob looks like a transplanted hand throttle knob.

Thanx guys! Good know that this is not a converted H1. I am not worried about small non- original stuff that can be removed. BTW, HMMWVs are street legal in Europe and so is this one! 😊

I'd say its real. The color is definitely not military. The spotlight could be military or civilian. The pioneer kit underneath was standard on older models. They have since been moved to other places.
