it works most of the time, but once in a while I have to flip switch a few times to get it to work. I thought if I could buy the switch I would have it in case switch goes bad

TM shows part number........30 PAOZZ PAOZZ PAOZZ 81640 8906K4519 ..SWITCH, TOGGLE AC 1 1
CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER

Parttarget has more information:

Hit yours with contact cleaner and exercise it some before you buy. Looks to be a tight switch so contact cleaner might not get to the contacts, though. Check connections for corrosion.

Its probably not your switch. Its probably the magnetic contactor behind the S8 wall. They can act intermittently due to corrosion just like the rest of the set. Sometimes a very gentle persuasion with a rubber mallet helps clear things up (honest!) along with deoxidizing the visible contacts).

Or you can also remove the K2 relay, and take it apart. Its not hard at all. You might find water or corrosion in it. Clean it up and try it. As LID said, this kind of problem is normally the relay, not the switch.

I use WD40 or penetrating oil on a lot of electric with laminations and to lube. Rust and eddy currunts don't get along well.

A potential replacement candidate for the 8906K4519 S5 Interruptor switch is a Honeywell 2TL1-70. They are about $35 from DigiKey and others.
The contact operation of the 2TL1-70 is slightly different than the 8906K4519 so some wires would go to different terminals.
I haven't tried it but it looks like it should work.

To use the 2TL1-70 the terminal mapping would be..
The diode would remain on terminals 2 & 5.
