Compressor rebuild?

The truck I picked up yesterday has some oil leaking where the air line connects to the compressor. I'm guessing it's engine oil that's blowing by the compressor piston. There's no oil in the air tanks so it's not too much getting by. I'm going to go pick up a new fitting to see if that'll clean it up. I've got two questions. Is it just a standard 3/8" NPT compression fitting? And, if that doesn't clean it up, has anyone rebuilt the compressor?
