RE: more pics

See if you can pull up ebay item #200257042943 . The listing may be too old, the only things I found gone where the torch regulators and the spoolgun. Somewhere on the net I found an inventory list but it has escaped. I'm still working on the picture posting

CUCFAN,
Question I have then is why would they (yes, I know it's the Government) take an M1031 and change it to an M1028A1 if they needed M1031's so bad?
As far as the driveshaft, what is the difference between the two trucks?

Remember, M1031's were just cab/chassis. They needed to be converted to Contact Maintenance trucks. I guess somebody miscalculated on the number of CM trucks they'd need, so the units starting pulling the beds off of the Dodges before cutting them loose? As for making pickups, I guess they figured a pickup is infinitely more usable than a cab/chassis, so they created the MWO for the M1028A1.

The driveshaft lengths are different for the 208 and 205 t-cases.

the truck pictured in the start of this thread has an NSN # 2320-01-127-5077, Serial # 1GCGD34J6FF304XXX, Reg # NG1H9A, its really an M1008. I too have an M1028a1, in the avatar, that had the old "Dodge" body on it, that I swapped for a pickup bed. It has the NP205, etc, it really is an M1031, according to the build sheet, cab & chassis.

I have an m1028 with nsn 2320-010127-5077 with truck bed, 208 tc.

I too have an m1028a1 dont have nsn handy right now, np205 tc.

Don't worry I'm not scrapping any. I'm collecting as many as I can. Last year I put contact maint beds on (2) 2010 Dodge 2500 to make work trucks out of them. Also I would like to add this statement. No CUCV's were harmed in the making of this project. (At least by me anyway).
