Is it possible to convert the M1078 to a serpentine belt system?

With searching I show the HMMV and MRAP support it. (not sure of they are similar in any way) sorry to ask such basic questions.

I kind of like the redundancy of having two V belts on the alternator. Am I crazy?

I'm getting ready to change my belts, so I'll probably feel differently after I work through that...

I'm still in the bidding phase of getting the truck but the one I'm working on is a 3126. Where can I find information on the kit? Is this something hidden in the TM's and I just need to dig it out?

Sorry what is an AO?
A0 is first generation unofficial name. All the rest are designated in their ID number as A1, A2 etc. thus the first generation became called A0 though it would not say that in the ID number... For example, you've stated yours is an M1078A1 where before that it would be just M1078?.... don't recall for sure if they had an "A" in them or no "A" at all. someone will step up and clarify. Later "Phases?" or new "Production?" that has a bit of a significant change to the previous model would have something like M1078A1P2, or if more significant such as a completely different axle then the A's numeration would move up a notch. M1078A2 for example.

May be little off on the exactness of this but this info will get you in the neighborhood.

Thanks that really clarifies it. The truck I'm looking at had a V belt but the alternator is missing so I will need to buy a new alternator pulley along with the new alternator.

I think in another thread I saw info on adding AC compressor and it looked V belt so I may end up going that route.
