Coolant behind exhaust manifold studs??

Ok I am in the process of replacing the exhaust manifold gasket on my LDT465-1C. While removing the exhaust nuts lastnight, I had one bring the stud out along with it on the #5 cylinder. When I got it all the way out coolant started pouring out the hole where the stud came from. Is this normal? If not, any thoughts on the cause? Thanks!

It may be like a 350 chevy head bolts that go directly in to water jacket. MAKE SURE YOU USE A SEALANT ON THE TREADS OF THE STUDS GOING BACK IN. My 2 cents.
