Coolant Filter install question...

I'm throwing in a coolant filter to help get rid of all the junk in my system. I flushed it several times today and sediment still is visible so it can't hurt..:)

I just want to verify that the filter feed line IN should tap into the heater hose for the "block to heater core" line and the filter OUT line should tap back into the heater hose for the "heater core return line to the radiator"...correct?

This setup should give ample pressure for the IN line to the filter according to what I have read.

Thanks

IMHO, in line with the heater core will reduce the flow to the heater and impair its function. I would plumb it as a parallel loop to the heater and possibly have a shut-off valve to select either the filter or the heater.

This is a new one on me. At the ripe old age of 50 I have never, ever heard of a coolant filter. Please post pictures of the apparatus used and the install. I think this is interesting to say the least.[thumbzup]

cranetruck...That's what I posted...:) A Tee fitting in the hose to the heater core going to the IN on the filter base and then a Tee fitting in the hose going from the heater core back to the radiator with the filter base OUT line tapped in....

The heater hose from block to heater core should have more pressure so that's where I'll tape into feeding my filter. I never said I was going to just put the filter INLINE...:)

I don't know why it would be any different than my M1009. My install went great and the system works fantastic.

I can post pics when I get a chance if anyone wants to see them....
