cooling system question

I have noticed since installing my new motor that, what the tempp stays in the proper range, it does not build up pressure. I have not looking into borrowing a cooling system pressure checker, but I have no leaks, no lost coolant, no oil/coolant mixing, no fuel/coolant mixing. Without a leak, I am unsure where to look. Im not sure even pressuring the system with a tester will find it. Any suggestions?

Pressure cap? Remember, there are three seals, the outer one for catching expansion to tank, the main pressure seal and then the inner return from expansion tank. The latter gives the most problems in my experience with other cars. The outer seal is at fault if the expansion tank doesn't fill the radiator on cooling.

Keep the expansion tank full. I've noticed with my truck ,I guess maybe because the system is so large. That every time I empty the cooling system to do some work , It takes about 5 or 6 heat cycles to refill / purge, the system. And it will not build pressure until it's full.
