CUCV 12v hook up for AUX lights?

OK so my question is im looking for a spot in the harness to get 12v current for lights, radio etc. Previously I hooked up some offroad lights straight to the one of the batteries and blew em up. if you hook up to one battery are you getting 12v or 24v? because there both connected. Any input or pics would be appreciated.
