has any one ever seen or done a m1009 with a ring mount? I want to do this to my truck but, I'm afraid of crushing the fiberglass top. I want to know the right mount to use.

is it not possible?
It is possible to make a weapon carrier, there is a thread on here somewhere on the topic. It shows some the military used for training, and some the USAF used, but the USAF took the fiberglass top off and mounted a pintle post in the bed. All were very light weight mounts.

Now, using one of the gun rings from a deuce/5-ton/whatever? No, it would go through your roof about as fast as you could drop it on there. They are HEAVY. Maybe one of the lighter Humvee rings would work, but I don't know what they weigh.

Cheers

PS- (By the way, gun truck usually refers to something with added armour and used for escort type duties. Never seen a CUCV one of those, for practical reasons).

I saw several at Knox two years ago with a perfect 3' holes cut in the tops, out side of that I did not see any hardware or mounting's. I assumed they were used for practice before the real.
