Greetings folks,

Doing some corrective maintenance on my '09. I pulled the firewall plug apart in order to clean it out and noticed that one of the female connectors is bent.

I unscrewed the inner half and twisted it around so it faced the cab, hoping to use a dentist pick or similar to pull out / back into shape. No luck.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks, good day

While I can't help with the bent pin I can tell you that it is the 24v feed wire for the starter relay and the 24v fuse.

Possibly your best bet at this point is to replace the harness. Not to bad to remove and replace

I am sure that with the proper tool you could remove that pin from the block, straighten it and reinstall. I have not done that so I can't tell you how to get it done.

Also if you can find a mechanic that has an electrical connector repair kit, they should be able to replace that connector.

Since you've helped me establish that replacing the harness may be my best option, I feel less hesitant about separating the existing one from the fuse box and trying to straighten or replace and reinstalling. Good call on the connector kit.

Much obliged for your time and knowledge.

There happens to be a harness that was listed in the classifieds yesterday. $55 shipped

Buy it, install it and repair yours at your leisure, then sell it. ;-)

But there is no DH mod on that one... :D

I've sent the member a PM.

Here's to hoping that it solves a couple other gremlins that have reared their ugly heads.
