Suggestions for CUCV Wiki info
So I was looking at the CUCV wiki and reading through the TMs, and just thought the wiki could be updated a little bit with some more info. I'm just a noob, so I'm probably not the guy to post the info. Of course, I realize the TMs have all the required info, but isn't the point of the wiki to give a quick reference to FAQs? It would be a big help when doing PCMS to have a one click stop for all the info.
So here's what I was thinking should be on there:
1. Recommended oil weight, quantity and filter type
2. Engine coolant/water ratios & quantity
3. Fuel filter part# and vendors
4. Air filter part# and vendors
5. Transmission/transfer case fluid type and quantities
6. Recommended brake fluid type
7. Recommended power steering fluid type/quantity
8. Glow plug model/vendor (think it's already listed)
9. Civilian availability/equivalancy for GAA and GO lubes
10. Original tire specs, equivalents, options and availability
11. Key code ;D
12. Part numbers/recommendations for changing lock and ignition key cylinders.
13. Various belts/part numbers (e.g. alternator, etc)
14. Replacement alternators
15. Required/recommended battery size/cca/type
16. Vacuum lines/hoses specs
17. Fuel line sizes/specs
18. Wire gauges/fuses for various electrical systems
19. Lights- bulb specs/vendors
Like I said, I realize most of this is in the TMs, but it would be a lot easier to click the wiki instead of browsing through a couple hundred pages and searching sometimes vague and unrelated forum posts.
Maybe we should index and create some step-by-step how to's as well so noobs don't keep asking the same quesitons, e.g. check/replace glow plugs, 24-12v conversion, fuel filter change, oil change, tranny & coolant flush/fills, etc.
Just my $.02
