As said, 5.9 can be 12 or 24 valve. The 12 is quieter than the 24 though.

I dont understand what is tring to be said here? What do you propose they should have done?No, the trucks that multiple friends had were the 5.9's. All of them were 2006 and older. Two other guys I know have had to put in new 6.7's also on their newer trucks.

They weigh more than 800 lbs. The 4.2 in my land cruiser weighs about 800 pounds.you can put a p-pump from a 12v on a 24v making it all mechanical.
watch out for the 54 blocks on the 24v. prone to cracking.
