I would add a note of caution to be careful and filter oil well. While reading in a "Fifty years of Caturpuller " book the dealer had problems with a farmer's Cat going through injector pumps till the factory mechanics figured out that the tight farmer was using straight crank case oil for diesel. Remember how close the machining is for fuel pumps and injectors. I will be figuring out some system with a Chevy V8 oil pump some spin on filters and a spin centrifuge filter to try my luck. Mark

Do any of you add any type of anti-gelling supplement in colder weather? How about any supplement to get rid of any water in the oil? In the dealership I used to work in, there was always oil that was contaminated with water or anti-freeze and before we could burn it in the waste oil heater, we had to run it thru several filters and add a supplement to get rid of the water. Water in your fuel does nasty things to your fuel filters, your fuel tank, IP, injectors, etc. Just wondering what you do to get rid of all of it.
