Curiosity: How to enrich AF when a turbo is added?

I was just thinking, and could not come up with an answer...

If one was to install a turbo on a M998 with a 6.2, how does one enrich the AF mix on a stock mechanical injection pump when boost is added?

The other thing I was contemplating is installing the turbo below near the exhaust as the normal spot it where I have AC. So I guess a oil scavenger pump is in order also.

Just wondering...

Since there are no throttle plates on a diesel. There is no restriction on air entering the engine. Actually, atmospheric pressure restricts air entering the engine. Only fuel is regulated on a diesel engine by the injection pump. Basically, a diesel can’t run lean like a gasoline engine. It can be over fueled though. That is when black smoke comes out the exhaust.

If you add a turbo, increasing the fuel rate in the injection pump needs to be done to take advantage of the turbo. Here is a video about how to turn up the fuel:

Plenty of posts on opening IP and turning 1/6 turn and advancing IP.

Assuming you don’t want to pull your IP to adjust… there is a skill to finding the ball tipped Alan key area to turn
