Another catalog in the mail:

- Thought this might interest somebody.

- Good quality from all appearances.

- And claims to be from re-cycled aircraft aluminum.

Used to be into the scale models; not anymore: more now into getting rid of stuff instead of collecting it. But I recognize the spark it gives to some.

Not cheap, but heirloom. This one looks like a keeper.

Wow that would be cool, too bad I don't have anything remotely appropriate to put it, or really afford it right now.

Recycled airplane aluminum? really? I guess it goes with a 150$ "distressed" propeller?

Yep.....I'm one of those guys. I picked this "desk" up a few years ago from a group that cuts up old aircraft to make furniture. It's an outer flap off a C-130A. I asked if they had any paperwork on the plane they got it from.....unfortunately no.

Yeah it's all pricey. I never meant to suggest it was affordable; just available.

But if you CAN afford it (and you got a table like that):

- Might need to consider one of these chairs http://www.restorationhardware.com/...jsp?productId=prod60107&categoryId=cat1537048

Then you can really tell everybody, "I'm just sitting here at home, winging it"!

I actually started out looking for an aviation related chair. The company I called had an F-4 ejection seat converted to an office chair, but had sold out......and then they asked : "Well, what's your favorite aircraft".....and I told them about my flight in a C-130 after build a 1/10 scale flying replica.

Aviation is an addiction......as bad, if not worse than Green Iron.

Here's a video of it from years ago (I'm the guy with JSF F-35 hat on).....more gray hair now.

Here is a video of the real C-130 it's based on:

The pilots, flight crew were absolutely awesome in helping me with the build. They actually took great interest and wanted to see it fly (though I'm 1800 miles away). So I made the video, posted it on youtube for them and friends.....had no idea it would get so many views over the years.

Very cool. Great soundtrack!

A big fan of the C-130:

- It's the airframe that just won't stop giving.

Not even sure, are they still being produced?
