Deuce air horns

Happy new year!! I have the little bleet bleet baby jeep horn in my duece. I swear when the engine is idleing you can't hear it. I found some air horns off of who knows what. I found a solenoid for an air horn setup from a m35a2 application. My question is do I need to regulate the air pressure or is it a straight on feed from system pressure? I put the solenoid on the test bench at work and when open it does not seem to flow much air. So far I would think it is not regulated. Building a louder horn from scratch here...

Thank you very much for the part and the info Joe. I'll look again at my CD. I could not find the schematic before. I can't believe they ever put that tiny litle electric horn in a rig so loud. I'll fix that..LOL..

That little horn was used on a lot of MV's, including the M37. Just a little "beep-beeper." If you need me to, tomorrow I'll look under the hood of my M35A2 and let you know exactly how the air line connects. If you use commercial compression fittings, the common ones, the nuts are too short and vibration will eventually cause air leaks. The military version is a long nut, like a flare nut, but it won't fit to the commercial adapter. If you can't find the military fittings, go with flare fittings. The compression ring is standard, 5/16" o.d., the size of the standard line that goes to the horn solenoid. Commercial fittings are what you'll find at a hardware store.

KJ!

If you put one of those diesel locomotive horns in your Deuce, you will never have to wash it again! <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"><img src="speech/icon_speech_yeah.gif" border="0">

When you blow the horn, it will blow the dirt right off! <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_reyes.gif" alt="Reyes"> <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_idea.gif" alt="Idea"> <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif" alt="Wink">

I love the Nathan P3 Airchimes on my pickup, now need a set for the deuce. Nah, a P5 setup would be better<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_thumzup.gif" alt="Thumb Up"> When I get my truck up on the lube rack again I'll take a pic of them.

Ha ha!! Train horns I wish. Every May we have a 4x4 event up in our local woods. There is this one guy that has train horns on his truck. You can hear him for miles. It is a crack up.

Thanks for the tip on those fittings. Still not sure where to tap into. I have not had time to look more on the CD. Man those are difficult to navigate through. If someone could take a quick look It would be great. Thanks... Al..

Is there enough CFM with the onboard air in the Deuce to drive the airchimes?

I would love to use them in my Deuce! <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"><img src="speech/icon_speech_yes.gif" border="0">
Dunno, I have them on my pickup, haven't tried to hook a set to the deuce yet. I think the deuce would need a set of P5s<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">

The air line is T'd into the system, see pic.
The air line is 3/8" o.d. copper. I was wrong in saying 5/16", I was going by poor memory. Be sure to clamp the line down to minimize vibrations that will cause a leak.
