Deuce Air Hoses Sought

Interesting experience yesterday, I drove the Deuce to work, on the way home, about a mile from the plant, there was a MASSIVE explosion in the cab! Dust/dirt/debri everywhere......what in the world! I saw my legs were still intact, and there was no fire, or hole in the floor, so I figured it was an airline. It's amazing how fast your mind can process stuff when your scared.

I immediately turned my attention to the air gage to watch my 90 Lbs go to 0 Lbs in about 4 seconds,......oh-oh....this can't be good. I was about 1/4 mile from a stop sign so I had plenty of time to try the brakes, and realize they were going to be useless so I just carefully downshifted and lightly used the parking brake at the last second to bring her to a safe stop.

Once past the stop sign, I pulled off the road to see what had happened. Turns out the airline that operates off of the frt end air-shift lever had blown apart up under the dash next to the fire wall. So I need a new air-shift airline, and I figure I might as well get a new air line for the air gage, as they come out of thre same fitting and are probably the same age/condition.

Whom among you all might have these items for sale, and how much?

......I work 25 mile form my home, I stayed on backroads and made it home without further problems.....but I don't recommend driving a Deuce without brakes.....scary stuff.

You can buy pipethread to hosebarb fittings and some airhose, and make your own.

If you make tour own use fuel hose clamps they are beter than hose clamps . for the best protection have some made at a truck shop or a tractor shop that makes hydrolic lines. will last under the pressure.

the brakes will still work with no air pressure. just not as well.

Thanks for the heads up on making my own, I know were I can have that done in Phoenix, I've given them business in the past. But I was hoping one of the vendors would let me know if they had these items as I like to support fellow SS members, and I don't like to drive 35 miles one way to get to town.

I don't have an air-shift transfercase, but all of the air lines on my truck just use regular tubing and compression fittings. Buy some new tubing and olives, and you can reuse your compression fittings. Or 'upgrade' to the newer plastic hoses and push-lock fittings. I think that's what I'm going to do when I replace all my airlines.

Did your buzzer not work? Pressure <60 psi = buzzer.
I broke a rear glad hand (right side) one time backing up into some debris and that buzzer left no question as to what had happened....
Just curious...yes, make your own replacement, we are not talking high pressure here only reliability.
