Deuce cab weight

Hey guys

I just picked up a 72 M35A2 and I'm in the process of restoring it (it's had a hard life since it left Ft Polk LA). I finally have everything mechanical working correctly, so I'm ready to start working on the body. The cab has some rot that I'm going to cut out and replace. I have a sandblaster, and would like to just pull the cab and do it right (top and bottom). I really doubt I could just call over a few buddies to pick this thing up....Does anyone have an estimate of what the cab weighs? I'm building an A frame with winch to pull it, but want to make sure I build it to support the weight. I'd rather not drop it and crush a cab corner.

Also, will someone send me a pick of their fuel pump? The previous owner had the fuel cut cable zip tied off. It looks like maybe there was a bracket on the back of the fuel pump to mount this to, but I'm missing it and a bolt.

Thanks for the help. I'm ready to get this beast on the streets.

The body isn't really heavy. The problem is the lift height. The best way fmo is a forklift or wheelloader with a carefull driver...or a hoist.

The cab weighs a few hundred pounds. I think three or four guys could manage to lift it off. I used a engine hoist and ratchet straps to remove mine by myself. Had to use a wrecker to reinstall due to making it a four door.

How do you plan on clearing the steering column. If you remove the bed it becomes easier to man handle the cab. I can roll a cab around the yard by myself so a couple of hundred sounds plausible.

will the steering column not unbolt from the top of the gear box? I was just going to pull the column out.

removing the bed seems like a bigger project

I think it may weigh about 300lbs.
If you need to fix a lot of rust I have a cab that is in good shape, just a lot of paint on it. PM if you are interested

thank you for the offer on the cab, but I'm going to fix this one. There's not a ton of rust, but I want to sandblast it and undercoat it to make sure it's done right and I won't have to worry about it again. Most likely have the inside bedlinered.

The column doesn't just unbolt, it needs to be disassembled to get it off. You can unbolt the box from the frame so that it can swing up and down. My experience is that they are somewhat problematic to remove with the bed in place.
