Whats the best tool to remove the inner axle wheel seal?
gear oil was coming out of it so im trying to get it out.
All I have is a slide hammer.
You think i should heat it up?

Slide hammer usually works. Bjorn's method is to use a 6' long 1" dia. metal rod to pop the seal out from the opposite side, with the rod running all the way through the axle.

I tried a slide hammer and couldn't get mine to budge.I have to use a 3/4" Black Iron Pipe run though the tube and a BFH to drive the seal and retainer out.Took about 2 solid hits with the hammer to pop them out..

If you still have a new seal in your hand can you please post the number so I can cross it for the parts section... I forgot to do that when I had mine loose...

Unless your doing both sides. The slide hammer keeps you from having to take the other side apart.

i put a piece of 1/2" x 1" Flat bar across the end of the axle sideways,
and used a Puller with the arms with the hooks out. a quick buzz with the impact, and its out.
i'd tried a bunch of other methods before i figured this out.

side note..........
has anyone tried the upgrade seals ? i got 4 this time, and then upgraded my rear axle to the 2" 47 Spline from OEM before i installed them,
so now i cant use the back two cause the ID is too small for the axle to go thru.
