Deuce jacking procedure

First time deuce owner here could someone point me towards the tm for jacking up the deuce safely? Also will 6 ton jackstands be enough for the rear of the truck and where would be the best spot to position them, the passenger side has room on the diff tube but the drivers side doesn't have any space

I usually put wood around the tires I am not lifting off the ground and use a large bottle jack in the middle of the axle I am lifting. Then I will lower it on to (2) 10 ton jack stands. I know its over kill, but I feel safe going under the truck this way.

Looks great, what about the rears tho it doesnt look like theres any space to the left side of the diff to put a jackstand safely, not my truck but might help get a visual

I use the 6 ton HF jack stands. With out looking under the truck I can't remember where on the back I put them, but they do work and fit.

On the left side just put it under the mounting pad for the toque rod right between the 4 bolts.

Thanks also I have a 3 ton jack laying around think it would get the truck up enough to get the jackstands under or should I just get a bottle jack when I go get tools

A buddy of mine broke my 3 ton floor jack while jacking up the front of his Deuce...

Use some 2x4 and 4x4 and 6x6 wood and drive right up on it. That will probably be high enough for what You need to do. Just not the axle you need to work on.

What specifically is/are your favorite lug nut tool(s) to carry with you in the MTVR for roadside use, and why? I'm visualizing socket, breaker bar, and cheater bar, but would an air or electric impact wrench be a better solution on something of this size?

3/4 inch torque wrench if you want that
3/4 inch ratchet and or breaker bar
6' pipe for the breaker bar
Lug socket and budd square socket. Combo might work but it did not for me.
3/4" extension I think 8" would be long enough.
3/4" Ingersoll impact gun with a 1/2" air hose should do it.
Plenty of other options out there for impact including cordless. There is a thread somewhere search for what cordless impact are you using.

have 2 wheel cylinders possibly 4 shot and the parking brake is shot

Also invest in a torque multiplier set wrench lug nut labor saving/lug nuts remover, here is a pic of the one I have that I got off Ebay for $38...

one of the major plans after jackstands could you also tight with the multiplier using a torque wrench and some calculation or would just using it to loosen them be the best idea

If you like working around the Deuce and cherish your own health, do yourself a favor, spend some extra $$ and buy a quality cordless impact wrench, maybe there are some discounts around, or ....




After wrestling with nuts and bolts, and breaking some tools, I finally had the chance to snap up a Milwaukee professional impact wrench at discount, and never looked back or had a problem with stubborn bolts (that is, as long as you use loaded batteries )

I have the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2 Cordless Impact Wrench, brushless motor, 1491 NM nut-busting release torque, 950 NM fastening torque. Don't go for lower release torque, this one will keep and not burn out with a stubborn nut. Unfortunately, they are much more expensive here in the Czech Republic, but a 40% discount helps.
