My second alternator dosent work, and my front battery died, so I tried switching the batteries to start the truck. My neighbor said he knew what he was doing and hooked the batteries up wrong, there was some smoke. I checked the training manual to hook the batteries up correctly, but whe,n I do, the headlights, and horn come on. Did we fry the whole electric system?

Can you post a picture of how you are hooking up the batteries?

Is the trick stock or has it been converted to 12v?

Due to lack of light, I can post a picture in the morning, but I put the negative terminal of front battery to ground positive terminal of front battery to 12V junction block and to negative terminal of rear battery positive terminal of the rear battery to 24v terminal board, as soon as I connect the negative of the front battery to ground thats when the horn and headlights turn on. Its still 24V not converted
