Newbie here, future owner of M35A3 I hope....

1. I'm going to try to buy a M35A3 but was wondering, is the only difference between the M923 and M35A3 the payload?

2. What do M35A3's generally go for on auctions?

I found one at a local car dealer, looks in great shape with perfect canvas and everything for 10K...... Sounded like a lot to me.

3. Noticed some of the tires on possible bid trucks were flat, will the CTIS inflate them up?

Thanks in advance
1 Pat

You live close enough to Ft. Mccoy/Sparta Wisconsin to recover a very nice truck. All you need is money.

A3 is a big truck.

900 series is a REALLY big truck.

They may be the same color,,,,,,,,,,,,,everything else is different.

Completely different animals all together.
M35A3-2.5 ton truck, air/hydraulic brakes, typically no CDL required.
M923-5 ton truck, full air brakes, CDL.
Though the M923 is a big animal it drives easier than my 2001 3/4 ton Dodge Cummins. I will own a 923 someday soon;-)

You can see a side by side comparison of the 2 trucks here at the 8 second mark.

Oh yeah, see now, big difference. Thanks FastNova!.... no problem Cougar on the CDL, I have class A with hazmat/tanker/doubles/triples so I'm covered everywhich way, unless it's a passenger bus :)

Next question.... What's the difference in M44A3 vs M35A3? They look the same, same engine, trans?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm hot to start bidding on one very shortly.

No difference between M44A3 and M35A3. The M44 desigation is basically like the series. Ie: M35A2, M109A3, M185A3 all fall under M44A2. Whereas the M44A3 has the M35A3, M109A4, M185A4 (if that even exists).
Each series has their characteristics. The M44A2 has the Multifuel engine. The M44A3 has the Cat Diesel and Automatic transmission. They are all 2.5 ton series trucks with different equipment. I hope that makes sense.

Yeah that says it all....My wife can drive the one on the left and I can drive the one on the right.... :) Seriously, think I'll try for a 2 1/2 ton so the wife can drive it if need be.

Thanks cougar for the help. Why did the military drop the multifuel? It would make more sense for the military to have the options on the field of battle/logistics! I was kind of shocked to find when I'm thinking of buying a MV it's no longer the case, I remember when I was 16 visiting a marine transportation unit and everything was multifuel.

Dropped Multifuel?

One word - EPA

May be other reasons but that is a big one.
