Dipstick Tube Modification

I would like to add more rigidity to the flimsy dipstick tube on my newly acquired M1151A1. I replaced the 400 amp gen with the smaller 200 amp gen and therefore have more space for securing the dipstick tube. I purchased a 6.5 NA tube with the 3 mount points but found the tube bend does not match. The turbo tube requires a significant bend because of it's exhaust manifold. Has anyone made this mod or are these tubes bendable to some degree?

The one installed with my truck only had one mounting point and moved very easily. That is why I wanted to swap it out.

Sounds like you need a turbo dipstick tube, could it be they actually cut one of the supporting arms off to install the 400A?

I misspoke earlier as I actually did order the turbo dipstick tube using a part number from my latest -24P (dated Aug 2009). Part #1 from the attach pic does not have the correct bend to go below the exhaust manifold. Is the tube supposed to pass between the engine block and the exhaust manifold on a turbo truck? There doesn't seem to be enough room. My original tube only has one long support, with no indication of another being removed, and passes below the exhaust manifold.

The tube for the 400amp install is specific to the applicatio, non-400 trucks get a different turbo dipstick, there are 2 versions, fording and non-fording, make certain you also have the correct dipstick as well based.

My ECV GEP turbo dip stick does not pass between the head and manifold, it looks like the picture above.
I interesting, the 387-24P has both the NA and turbo parts listed but only one dipstick tube
