Bought this truck as a non runner. I could not believe the condition of the fuel system. Worst I had seen. Typical case of it runs on anything I think. The good news is after a new tank, new fuel pump, new filters, one new filter housing and thorough cleaning of the fuel lines it’s fired right up. These trucks are incredibly resilient.

Looks like the system never seen a day of maintenance! Glad to hear you got it running, it's amazing the IP still worked with all that gunk in the system!
I’m not sure how it got that bad . I have cleaned several fuel tanks but I don’t think there is any saving this one. I just knew the injection pump was a goner. Runs and idles great now

I have a distinct disliking of the “average know it all” whom dumps any and all flammable liquids into a deuces fuel tank without so much as even attempting to filter it with zero concept of micron ratings on fuel filters

Or Lubricity for the injection pump and injectors. Sure the Deuce will run on straight "Gasoline" , but not for long.

That's just a bunch of dirt like it was ran without a fuel cap for a long time or maybe sabotage.
I've seen troops do all sorts of things to get a vehicle they don't want killed off the line.
Glad you got it going
more than dirt . There is also this very thick gooey substance. The Interior of the original fuel tank is covered in it . Some of it is rock hard .

the fuel screen tube is welded in place from the stuff.

Sabotage may have been a culprit. When I went to pick the truck up someone had sprayed over the VIN on the frame with black paint. (Was not like this the week before). The person handling the estate had no idea who or why. The property was vacant where it was stored

I have no idea. Was told it ran until it didn’t but no one really new much about it as the owner had died. Had a registration from 2018 and had flyer from a car show that same year in it
