I saw some huge nuts and bolts when we toured the USS Alabama at Mobile. Maybe I'll buy it just to hang on the wall and look manly! Check out that guy's Ebay Store. He has some other cool ex-mil stuff.

Maintaining a 5 ton wrecker is a job all in itself. Fun but if you lube it as directed, you will never get done. Probably one of the most complex wheeled soft skin MVs there are. Don't get me wrong, I love em, just tough to keep up with. Then you got that weight issue of a truck that weighs 32,000# empty. I would really like to get a deuce wrecker either the M108 or preferrably the M60. Not many out there and everytime I come across one, I'm broke. Other problem is they're gas powered. I would love to repower one of these little guys to have around the house. Then again, the smart thing to do would just be to install a knuckle boom on a deuce. Might not be the best thing for lift towing but hey, I've got a towbar! One guys opinion!

Being that I like things to look "right" I had a plan in place for my M35A2 before I bought my tractor. I was going to cut one section (3') out of the bed and shorten the top. This would give me just enough room for the K-boom. I had a transfer case PTO for the thing too. I'm certian it would be cool but when the opportunity came to buy the tractor, i used the crane money. One local guy has one on a deuce but it doesn't have a bed. Its darn cool and practical for everything. I've seen lots of people use the bomb hoist and a towbar for towing too.
