Dont feel like the Lone Ranger, I did the exact same thing today but I cant tell what size link it is it is all burned up and where is the best place to get it.
I guess you haven't read the fusible link thread stickies.

All the grounds and fusible links are listed. Now you DO HAVE TO learn how to read the diagrams and learn where to find them.

You are looking for the red 16ga fusable link that feeds the feeds the starter relay. Shown in the E-1 wiring diagram.

really amazing what you can find in the Tecnical Manuals and in the stickies.

Have you disconnected your batteries yet?
This is what I did, disconnected the batteries did the install and before I bolted the mounting plate back to the dash I wanted to try it. Well everything worked as planned, went to bolt the mount back and spark and smoke ( I knew what I had done) so long story short the batts are disconnected(now)and the fusible link is fried will get parts tomorrow. Mark it up to a bonehead move.

I found another red one 1.0mm 16ga on the truck. I looked at all the FL's that I could find and wrote down the sizes so I can get spares for future problems self inflicted or not.
Thanks for the help again everyone

If the fusible link is original, the size is molded into the black plastic connector cover on the wire. The plastic part is just a cover. On this wire you should see a 16 molded into it.

Most of the links are 12ga, a couple of 16ga and a few 20ga.

NAPA usually doesn't stock the 12ga. They have to order it. YMMV

I buy the butt connectors, cutoff the housing, and then use some good shrink tubing. Crimp the connector and shrink the tubing.

You can order the bare but connectors but the price is high. Cheaper to buy a pack at the parts house and cut off the plastic. Most parts houses do not carry the bare connectors.
