Door Glass Parts Question

I am disassembling my cab doors and I started by removing the glass. The 20 TM recommends marking the location of the regulator stop brackets before removing the glass. Unfortunately, my doors do not have all the brackets mentioned. The parts missing are shown by the orange arrow. They are missing on both doors and on one door, the channel the bracket screws to does not even have a hole for the stop bracket screw. See the attached document to see the missing part.

Also, it appears to me that these brackets can only be attached at one point so I do not know why the measurement is required. Any help is appreciated.

Once you have the glass out of a door, does it matter if it is for passenger or driver side or is the glass interchangeable?

If it helps any... 1) I have disasssembled x-many doors and never found a single one having that particular "missing" regulator stop. 2) I have restored (not so many) doors to better-than-new condition and never felt it needed that bracket.

I only know of one Book that is perfect... not the TM's!

As for the window stop brackets, there are at least two versions out there...

Yes, it matters, if you refer to it as an assembly. The window lower frame portion is different, LH and RH.
The upper frames and window glass itself, are interchangeable.

Thanks G. I now have the answer to the bracket question. My doors are back together and work fine without it. :driver:
