Ive talked to CHP and they said no CDL required. (I had a nice long chat on the side of I-5 broke down in a M35a2.) The scales will bypass you when you go through. If you need any help in the Medford area let me know. I suggest I-5 to mount Shasta 89-44-395, drove it many of times.

I know its been a while but I'm making this trip this friday

UPDATE: I got a hold of CHP they told me you don't need a CDL but you do need a Class B license and must stop at weigh stations

I should have been more specific, a non commercial class b license
