Funny they were working last night. I noticed the headlight switch does work hard, does anyone know if those are common to fail?

Drove the 1983 into work today with no lights....

That took some time but found the problem. This truck had a brand new dash harness put in at some point. When they pluged the power wire into one of the dash lights they missed the female hole on the back of the light and jammed the power wire between it and the outer grounded rim. When I turned on the gage lights the switch blew. Two switches later and all is well.
