All right here's my question. The compresser is locked up on the M59. The lines are disconnected. No big deal; but if I change the airpak and M/C and bleed the brakes, and just plug the air hoses to keep crap from entering system. Will there be any problems...I don't think so but just checking. I just need to go around yard and onto a semi with the M48 in tow.....

Should be no problem. You'll have almost no brakes though. At a craw it will stop, but on the ramps, I bet you won't be able to hold your self.

I recently drove a deuce with the pipe plug out of the air-pack, just to see how it would stop with no boost from the air pack. There was very little braking ability.

If your doing all the other work just to have some brakes, I don't think it will be worth the effort, just to load it.

I think it will work, but you will really have to stand on the pedal. I've moved one around the yard with no air and I really had to press on the pedal to get it to stop. That airpack really makes a difference.

But I'd try it.

you could possibly put air into the tanks from the rear gladhands. It's just a thought. It should give atleast a couple good stops.

I hadn't thought of that. I do have a spare larger tank plus it will never leave 1 low.

Gimpy's on his way home with a few compressors. Give him a call if you need one.

I am pretty sure the gasser compressors are different. I already have a spare it's time that I don't have. I really just have Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I have 2 cab swaps to do then.

Yup, the gasser compressors are different. You can't fill the air tanks from the glad hands as there are check valves in the system. Using the air gauge line might work. Go slow and use the parking brake, but test it before you need it!

Then my truck is broken because I fill the tanks by the glad hand all the time.?.?

The air system in the brakes only provides assist to stopping. If you have enough leg strength and your brakes are properly adjusted. You should be able to stop fine. It is just how much you can leg press.

The water cooled Gasser air compressor was replaced by the two cylinder air cooled compressor. The early TM's actually walk you through changing over to the air cooled unit. Very easy to do. Get a good air cooler one and put it on there.
