Duramax 6.6 and Allison Transmission Swap

Well I called CA conversions and their Allison trans was going to be 15k!! Holy cow almost 3x what I was expecting.

Just buy an Alpha H1 Hummer. It will be cheaper and guaranteed to work and it will retain value and give immediate satisfaction.

would it be any cheaper to do this swap into a m1009? I was researching it for my k5 before I bought my m1009. (Id love both to be diesels)

I am thinking 2001 and up duramax with standalone ECU and harness. Open to best transmission choices.
