Using the thread search in the TM for Duece and cannot pull up anything related to the wiring diagrams. No matter what I put in it either comes up with the first TM or says try different wording. Anyone know what the positive side of the voltmeter hooks up to? There is no wire there that could reach the gauge. I got the truck with an empty hole. One wire way in the back of the fan is a plug in for something but it is about eight inches too short to reach the dash. Thanks.

You are correct that the voltmeter grounds to the panel at the "octopus" wiring- that wiring also grounds all the instruments. Looks like #27 feeds the voltmeter, it also provides +24v to the fuel gauge, oil pressure and temp gauges.
