Engine air compressor gasket

Has anybody tried putting the head back on with just some gasket maker and no gasket? I have replaced my gasket twice now less than 500 miles.

Doesn't sound like you have good flat surfaces.

I actually changed the head out with a different one and made sure that it was flat. And it blew out in a different place this time. This is a common problem as I have changed many over the years, I believe that the head design is weak between the bolts and over time they warp and or crack.

Ended up putting a thick almost like asbestos gasket back in and left extra around the outside will trim it down to about 1/8th around the outside. But on the bright side I now have everything you need to cut gaskets.

Which gasket sheet did you use? I was wondering if the high heat gasket material might work better. I know they sell sheets of it for exhaust stuff.

On my NHC250 I Put a coat of Permatex #2 both sides. The technical name is "Black Sh?t". Don't substitute brand.

Used the Victor Reinz JV128 3187 not for anything other than looks. And no goop I have used the perma-tex and it just cooks and turns loose.
