How do I tell what size motor that i have. I currently own a 1992 hmmwv. I am thinking it has the 6.2l diesel engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the number off the intake manifold.

The easiest way for me to tell is look at the oil pump drive on the back of the motor (where a distributor would be on a chevy gasser) it should have a tach sending unit bolted to it, if the bolt holding it down is on the left (drivers side) it is a 6.2L if it is on the right it is a 6.5L, also look at the left valve cover, if it says GEP it is likely a 6.5L

Thanks for the info. I will have to check for that stuff the next time I am working on my hmmwv.
